Drainage construction

Stormwater drainage built to drawing — drains, culverts, OSD systems and detention ponds that keep roads and platforms dry.

Good drainage protects the road and the development around it. We construct the stormwater drainage network for development projects, usually together with the roadworks package.

Works are set out and built to the approved drainage drawings and levels, and coordinated with the road construction so both are completed in sequence. Where the authority requires stormwater detention, we build the OSD system or detention pond as part of the same drainage package.

Typical jobs: Housing developments · Shop offices & commercial · Industrial sites · Road upgrading projects

Questions we get asked

Can drainage and roadworks be quoted together?

Yes. Most of our drainage work is carried out together with the roadworks, which keeps levels and sequencing under one team.

Do you work with precast drains?

Yes, we install precast drains and culverts as well as cast-in-situ concrete drainage, depending on the drawings and specification.

What is the difference between OSD and a detention pond?

Both hold stormwater and release it slowly. An OSD system is usually a structure such as an underground tank within the site, while a detention pond is an open basin. The drainage design decides which is used.

What information do you need?

Drainage layout and details, the BQ or scope of work, site location and your programme or tender closing date.
